subtitle question

hi
i just bought a new dvd thats in japanese with engluish subtitles.the pro-
blem is the subtitles.in some scenes thats mostly in black they are very
visiable.in the lighter or white scenes the subtitles are very hard to read.
is there anything i can do to config this problem??thanks

You good try a different dvd player. Not many standalone players have changeable subtitles ie color size etc, you could also use your computer.
