Super Bowl Weekend

Postby smartin4 on Fri Feb 03, 2006 6:38 pm

What's everyone doing on Sunday? Staying home, going to a party, hanging out with the family or friends?

I'm staying home this year. I just can't seem to get into the 2 teams playing. I will absolutely watch the game, I just can't bring myself to get overly excited about it.

Just for the record, I would rather see Seattle win, not because I like them, but because I would love nothing more than to have Joey Porter shut his big mouth.

The only good thing about the Super Bowl is the ads. So I might watch the commercials.

This year, like last year (Philthy-NE), I would tend to agree with you.

But on the other hand, as an NFL fan, it's really a tradition to watch the SB even if it is just for the ads. I will find a reason to root for something I'm sure.

I make a habit of watching every year regardless of who's in it, though I would prefer to see my team make a triumphant return in the very near future. I have probably seen every SB since around 1982, and I don;t plan on missing any for a very long time.

Having a little get-together at my house, just a couple friends and myself. Regardless of the outcome, the game is gonna look sweet on my roommate's 57" HDTV!

I'm working during the day. We've got 150 officers in Windsor to help the local city officers handle all of the American youths coming over to drink in our bars and watch our stippers.
I should be home in time to watch part of the game, unless they keep me late to assist in dispatch.

Windsor is expecting 100,000 people over the weekend.
Stores are stocking up on Cuban cigars and strip bars doubled the number of dancers...yeah, it's Sin City.

I too will be working. I'll be at the border keeping the threat out. I too like the Super Bowl for the commercials. They are the best commercials on TV.

Hey Spaz, just make sure them youths don't bring over to the US them Cuban cigars.

I'm just riding the radio today...

besides, other than the smell and taste, the Cubans aren't bad.

But I was drunk and on the beach in Holguin, Cuba at the time. 8)

$5 us for a #3 Montecristo was a good price at the time.

They sell for $25 Cdn (about $22 US) up here.

Spaz, how did you like Holguin, Cuba? Which beach? Did you ride around town? When did you go there? Did you have some of that Cuban coffee? Did you eat Congri, Pork, and yuca with Mojo?

I was there in 1999.

I loved it. I wish I spoke Spanish.

Hotel: Paradisus Río de Oro (300 rooms) in Playa Esmeralda. 5* resort.

I'd go again in a minute.

I was drunk for nearly 7 days. :o Its all inclusive.
Food was excellent, lots of pork & chicken.
Swim up pool bar. Bar in the lobby. Bars on the beach. Beer fridge in your room stocked with beer!

I'm a non-smoker. But I had a few cigars while I was there.
Not bad when smoking them (even drunk) but the taste the next day was bad.

There were even a few Americans in the resort with us (travelled from Toronto).

The city of Holguin is about 45 minutes from the resort area of Playa Esmeralda. The city of Holguin looked like a 3rd world country. I saw several apartment buildings that should have been condemed. But, I've some in FLA in the same shape.

Back on topic: I never did get to see the game. I had a snow storm on my desk and had to work a bit late.

Sounds like you had a good time. Bars everywhere!

Didn't get to see the game either. One guy at work had a small casio tv but the reception really stunk and we had lots going on besides the drunks.
