Super Talent USB 3.0 Express DUO Benchmarks

Postby Ian on Wed Dec 29, 2010 5:59 pm

I recently picked up Super Talent's new budget priced USB 3.0 flash drive, the Express DUO. Super Talent claims that this thing can read at 67MB/s when plugged into a USB 3.0 port. A full review is coming but I wanted to post some of the results from my tests.

First off... here's CrystalDiskMark. As you can see, it does sequential reads at 67MB/s but writes at only 16MB/s.

Here's some results with HD Tach. I ran this test first with USB 3.0 and then again with the drive plugged into a USB 2.0 port. The drive's read speeds were nearly 30MB/s faster when using USB 3.0. However, its write speeds were only 0.4MB/s faster.

The write speeds are a bit disappointing for USB 3.0 but hey... an 8GB Express DUO is less than $15.
