TDK d-view 48x slim case CD-Rs - good or junky?

Postby articulate on Thu Aug 26, 2004 5:19 am

I know this question is a little retro, but does anyone know (or remember) these blanks and can maybe tell me anything about their quality or who made them? I don't have any to check the media code. They were sold as "TDK CD-RDV80" in green and purple slim case 10 and 20-packs.
Thx....

According to instant info they're made by Mitsui Toatsu. I don't know if this is good or bad. :o
I haven't seen or tried them myself.

Mitsui = very good. I've always liked Mitsui, but dolphinius_rex says the newer Mitsui discs aren't very good. I don't have any first-hand experience with the new ones.
No, I like women.

The old Mitsui were very good. But the newer Mitsui called "MAM" are crappy media

I never use Mitsui media before
But conclution made from a several forums
Mitsui are excellent after burn but many of them will fail after a few years....
while Taiyo Yuden (Cyanine) are still living!
Their quality are considered marginal and they can be grouped together with brands like prodisc and ritek.....and maybe worst!
Not worth buying Mitsui then
go for brands like Verbatim / Mitsubishi / Taiyo Yuden/ Plextor

They invented Phthalocyanine and claim to be better in terms of longevity in simulation but in real life, Taiyo Yuden still better and cheaper than Mitsui
