"on the fly" burning problems

Postby zero79 on Mon Nov 25, 2002 7:12 pm

Hi,
I format my HD and reinstall win2k and since I can't burn cd "on the fly" anymore.
My config is
AMD Athlon 900
640 Mb RAM
46 GB IMB 7200 rpm
ASUS MB
liteon 56x
HP 9100 series CDR-RW

I use NERO, CDRWIN or CDMATE.
I installed the latest aspi from adaptec also.
The burner & the reader are on the same IDE but they always were on the same and I never had the problem.

I mostly get Buffer under-run, but sometimes NERO gives me another error message like it can't burn in DAO mode (don't know why it can't ..)

as the burner is only 8x, a 56x reader should be ok for on the fly recording, even if it reads audio at less than 56x.

ANy help appreciate.

Check to see if DMA is enabled for the CD-ROM and the burner.

See Setting DMA and Display Settings for instructions.
