upgrade samsung 24/10/40 to 32x or 40 or 48 ?

hi folks,

do you know if it would be possible to upgrade the firmware of the samsung sw-224B (24/10/40) to a speeder one (32, 40 or 48x), and how ?

Upgrading to a 48x is a definite "No" because the SW-248B uses a different chipset (Oak Technologies) from the others (Ricoh).
My solution to the Plextor vs. Lite-On debate: Buy 'em both! :)

So is it then possible to upgrade with the 40x firmware ? with mtkflash ? and could somoene post or send me the sw-240-b firmware ?

Mtkflash only works with drives using MediaTek chipsets. As Reg pointed out, these drives used Oak Tech and Ricoh chipsets.

Honestly, I have not heard of anyone overclocking a Samsung drive. You're probably better off buying a new drive instead of wasting your time trying to OC your older one.
