Hammer Storage writer for $30 after $20 rebate. Supports 16x +R, 16x-R, 4x +R DL and 5x RAM writing.. Does this use a Panasonic chipset?
Easy Media Creator 8 for $70. There are two $20 rebates available, one for upgrade or competitive upgrade and the other is a standard rebate.. Final cost is $30 if you qualify for both rebates.

If its like the one I reviewed, its based on the Panasonic SW-9585.

It's difficult finding specs for Hammer hardware.

Just getting back from CompUSA and looked in some boxes..

The Connect Computer writer mentioned above @ $40 was a LG H10N. Also in the box are black and beige bezels, Nero Express, Power DVD and Power Producer. For comparison, the OEM drive without software or extra bezel cost about $37 shipped at Newegg.

The lightscribe writer was a BenQ 1655. Didn't look to see what software might be included.
