I checked online and it said $159 after $90 savings but the flyer in todays paper says nothing about a rebate. Anybody know?

Thanks

Probably $90 in instant savings.

Got mine for $130 with a rebate I'm still waiting on. Might want to verify the warranty on it. Hopefully it's 3 years.

Sounds great until you see that almost all retail box drives have a 1-year warranty now.

Bought my 200GB WD JB for $142 with free 2-day shipping from ZipZoomFly a few weeks back, OEM, but with the 3-year warranty. No rebates required.

If it's not through Western Digital (probably through a fulfillment company), I wouldn't want it, though. I worked in retail electronics when I was a wee laddie, and found those to be very much a mixed bag in how well they worked.

That's $540 for 4-drive 1TB storage. $1,080 for 2TB. I only need to use my Abit IT7 Max board for this setup.

Or you could always wait for the Hitachi 400GB 7200rpm drives that are just around the corner. ;)

There's always something better around the corner. But the hitachi 7k400 is a whopping 5 platters so it is probably noisy and/or hot.

The maxtor maxline plus ii is rated quieter than these two, and has a 3 year warranty, so personally I'm leaning towards that drive.

The Hitachi should be fluid dynamic bearing, so noisy shouldn't be too much of an issue. As for heat, I can't say one way or the other.
