What my dvd and cd-rw can play??

Happy New Year All:
Here is my question. Is there any way to figure out what my dvd and cd-rw drives can play?? I mean if my DVD drive can play DVD-R or DVD+R etc. Is there any program or software for this to check out ?

Try Nero Infotool. While its not 100% accurate, it will give you an idea of your drive's capabilities.

You could also go to the manufacturers' web sites and check the specifications. What drives do you own?

I have two nice drives of the market: Lite-On 163 DVD and Yamaha CRW-F1E CD-RW.
