Burn baby burn!

What would be the fastest burner I could run on my PC?

Postby EDF587 on Tue Dec 17, 2002 8:08 pm

Here is my system:
Pentium 2 MMX 266MHz
96 MB RAM
20 GIG Hard Drive

I currently have a 8x8x32 Samsung on my PC, but its getting old and I think its time for a new one, The burner is going to a slow death.

Thanks in advance.

This is a hard question to answer. Look at the minimum requirements on drives. A 12x burner with Buffer Underrun Protection would probably be good.

Hmmm, the processor should be fine (usually the system requirement is Pentium 166Mhz, at least with drives by Lite-On), the minimum system requirement for memory is usually either 64MB or 128MB, you may want to consider additional memory, you may have a difficult time finding a burner slower than 32x in the market.

So if I have a 48x on my system with about 128 MB RAM, I should be able to burn at those speeds?
