Do-it yourself archiving. If not Blu-ray M-Disk, what?

Postby stix on Tue Dec 02, 2025 5:38 pm

Now that a quality retail Blu-Ray Burner for the PC is just about non-existent for purchase, and with the media so expensive anyway, what is the current thinking on best solutions for Do-it-Yourself home and office archival data backup without using cloud / online options, and for future accessibility when hardware is different?

Thoughts, anyone? Hello?

Big external hard drive would probably work well. My first backup solution was a 250 meg tape setup and I went up from there but tape got too small and slow to be useful.
