News of CD-R/CD-RW Drives

I recently bought an Acer/BenQ 6406 USB CDRW (6x4x6) with USB 1.1 interface. The drive detects, installs and reads correctly, but almost every time I attempt to burn with Nero, I get a "SCSI/IDE Command Aborted" error in the first half of the burn or simulation.

I have updated the drive firmware, tried different kinds of media, different speeds (even at 2x burning an image direct from HD, same problem, so not any kind of ...

When I turn the data verification function on in Nero, it always says that the disc has errors. But when I do an error scan with CDR Inspector it says that the disc is OK.

Is there something wrong with Nero verification?

I just bought an antec case and Sony CDR drive. Do any of you guys know before I open up the box to the cdr, if the color of Sony drive will match perfectly with the beige color of the Antec case? Or

Any of u guys with Antec know which brand of cdr gave u best match?

I am at wits end trying to get my CD Burner to work correctly. Breakdown on the system:

AMD XP1700+
Iwill XP333 Board
512 meg DDR266
Lite On 52x Burner
Windows 2000

It seems to burn fairly fast (around 3:00 for a 72min CD). But if I try to extract audio from a music cd it's full of errors and only does it at 2x speed. When I run Nero's CD tests it won't complete ...

The frustration has finally gotten to me. I have to ask someone else to help dig me out of this hole I have dug for myself.

I have 10 74min 650mb CD/RW discs that were previously formatted using Roxio DirectCD's UDFRDR format. I do not use DirectCD anymore, and want to erase these discs and burn information to them using Nero Burning ROM.

I know its been posted before, but since the search function is broke..... Can someone tell me where 24X rewriteable media is available? I thought it was available at CompUSA, but check on-line, and couldn't find it. I remember reading that the Verbatim was the best, but don't know where its available. I also remember hearing about Memorex, but don't know who makes it. Thanks.

I tested my writer in Nero InfoTool and sed that it hasn't C2 Error Correction ! Is it true ?

Well first off sorry to hear about the sad news re Yamaha and their RIP of CDRW burners. When a well known reputable company like this makes good if not top quality drives, but then they decide to increase a top profit margin on each drive, then company's like these are asking for trouble. In todays world of CDRW's there is surely stiff competition, like the war between AMD and Intel, or MS and Linux. ...

I use 99min CDRs for my DJing, and I need a burner to be able to write to them. My 40x12x48 TDK is a Sanyo drive like the Plexy and cannot work with them reliably. Maybe they can do 90-94min, but that's not 99. I have a chance to get the nice external 48x24x48 USB 2.0 drive for about $100 (open box) but does anyone know if it can or cannot handle FULL 99min CDs? ...
