Problems with Philips CDD6911 48/16/48 CD-RW

Yesterday I get this new one CD-RW from Philips in bulk package and till now I have burned 8 CD-Rs and only two of them successful. I can't understand whether the problem is software or some hardware problem with the RW drive or my computer. I switched off DMA support of CD-RW and my current CD-ROM because a frend told me that this may be a problem... I don't understand really why but... actually there ...

Optimum CD-R's?

Not too long ago Staples and a few other places had these Optimum CD-R's in packs of 100. I have heard that people have had no problems with these disks or they are compatible with their burner. They are made by CMC, which is a company that gets shot down quite a bit on various forums that I have seen. They use the phthalocyanine type 6 dye and have a silver top. However holding them ...

CD-R insight?

What seems to be a good quality CD-R? I am still trying to figure out why a majority of people that post on this form seem to like Taiyo Yuden, as the manufacture? Afterall they use the cyanine pigment. Cyanine's ability to maintain reflectivity is poor giving it a life span of about 10 years. It also delivers the weakest reflection contrasts and thus can cause read errors when run on old CD-ROM drives. Now ...

Which to Buy - Lite-On 52x/24x/52x or 48x/12x/48x ?

I dont currently own a CD-RW and am looking at these two Lite-On models. Money is a little tight at the moment so the LTR-48125 (£43) looks quite appealing as it is £7 less than the LTR-52246S (£50).

I can't decide between the two and would like to know if the faster drive is really worth it.

Thanks :D

How Are These Drives?

LTD-166S - Lite-On 16X DVD

LTR-52246 - Lite-On 52x24x24x CD-RW

Anyone have these drives? How are they? I noticed them at NewEgg.com. The DVD is $44.99 and the CD Burner is $70.00 Would these be better than Samsung's new combo drive? I noticed they only have a 2 mb cache buffer and the Samsung has a 8mb cache buffer. I have been all set on getting a combo drive. I do have two drive bays. ...

In House Review - CyberDrive CW099D 52/24/52 CD-RW

To kick off the week, we've taken a look at CyberDrive's new 52/24/52 CD-RW drive, the CW099D. Featuring some of the fastest speeds available, the CW099D reads and writes at 52x and is the first writer from CyberDrive to feature 24x rewriting speeds. This budget priced drive also has features like a 2MB buffer, Super Link buffer underrun protection and support for the Mt. Rainier format.

In this review we take a look at some ...

MP3 Burn Speed

I have two burners. One a Liteon 48x24x48 and the other a BenQ 40x12x48. Now dicussing burning MP3's onto CD-R, using Nero, what is the fastest speed that you've burned an MP3 onto a CD-R, without having any problems. I normally use 4x or sometimes 8x, but not any more.

If a burn data, then I will boost up the speed pehaps to 16x or 24x. Yet I've never tried burning at the full speed.

Speed issues with my new CenDyne 48x burner

Hello,

For Christmas I got the CenDyne Lightening IV 48X CD-Writer.. Having had two burners before this, I installed the drive pretty easily. Nearly every online review I've read about this CD recorder indicates that the drive burns a full (74 or 80 minute) CD in roughly 2-2:30 minutes. However, everytime I've burned an audio CD of this length (using MP3's from my hard drive) it takes a minimum of 4-5 minutes. I'm using Windows ...
