News of CD-R/CD-RW Drives

I like to know your experience and difficulties or satisfaction with having and using new "Lite-On Dual Format DVD Writer Model 411S". How is the quality of drive , its writing and media compatability?. How you compare this drive with other comparators drive?.

I am having problems burning to my newly bought package of Philips CD-RW80's, highspeed 4-12X.

I've burned hundreds of CD's on regular CDR's and CDRW's, both data and audio. I am using Nero 5.5.4.

When I insert the Philips media and go to the D drive properties the shortcut link is invalid. It says "make sure the path and file name are correct." It only does this when a Philips CD-RW80 is in ...

KMART ran an ad in this sunday's paper (southwest USA), they had 50 packs of the old TY FUJI's pictured for $12.

Thinking that since they had the TY spindles pictured they might have them, I went there and bought all 6 remaining TY FUJI spindles that were on the shelf, the rest they had were the Taiwanese crap that FUJI switched to.

Hi, Im new to this forum, and don't have much experience with burning. I have a Mitsumi 4804TE drive, and am using mitsubishi (postech) blank
cd-r's for burning. I use alcohol 120%, and nero 6 for buring images and data files, and after each burn I use cdChecker to check the disk for errors.

Everytime I check the disk with cdChecker I get errors ranging from 1 - 1000+ CRC redundacy errors on that disk. ...

I just recently got a MSI CR52-M internal ATAPI CD-ReWriter. The problem is the drive is not be detected by my pc even though it's all connected. Can I please get some help on this matter?

Ok im calling in the big guns, you folks at cdrlabs, while at work today (staples) i bought the Hi-Val 52x24x52x burner

heres some info on it to help on this mystery:

Firmware: S027
Buffer: 2048K
has the 2 buttons at bottom right, eject and skip, volume and headphone jack bottom left

sorry i can't give ya any pics, but the firmware should be the dead giveaway if you know who makes it

I have tried many types of media but I have still not managed to burn at 48x. I can get hold of a 100 pieces spindle with memorex 48x (blue and yellow type). On the media list, this media can be used with 48x. Have anyone tried it? I tried the Memorex 52x media made by Prodisc. Barely manged 32x without lots of errors.

I use the latest fw.

This just recently started happening... at first, every once in awhile the drive would work for a bit then the light would flash orange twice at a time upon inserting a disc, upon reboot it would work again.

When it came time to burn, it would occasionally stop and do the flashing orange thing... but now it wont burn at all. I even changed the serial cable, still I'm having problems getting power calibration errors ...

I recently burned some CDs that were supposed to have on 12 songs but when I played it back it only plays the first 4 songs. I took the burner out and bought a 52x Liteon which is working ok. Has anyone else had this problem? Is my burner more or less dead or was it the media. I can't remember the FW but I also remember getting some medium errors with Feurio and CloneCD ...
