I'm new here. This is my first post.

Can someone please put up their dvd-rom driver versions from Nero Info or help me with my problem?

Problem: DVD-Rom drive stops reading movie (pressed) DVD's after about 2Gb. Only tried store-bought movie DVD's that work in my set-top dvd player.

What I did: Upgraded Win98 to Win2kPro. DVD-Rom worked fine before the upgrade. Bought win2kpro (oem) brand new off ebay for $98+ship.

Windows Xp Pro recognizes my dvd rom drive as a cd-rom and it doesn't read any sort of disk.(cd-rom;cd-audio and dvd)
In security mode it seems to work properly.how can i solve this problem?I've already checked the cable conections and all seems to be correct.The malfunctioning drive is set as secondary master and my dvd-rw drive is set as secondary slave(this drive doesn't show any tipe of problem).Please reply A.S.A.P.

I recently burned a DVD-R, and it plays on a standalone RCA dvd player, plays on a cheap no name dvd player, plays on the DVD writer, but my dvd reader doesn't seem to recognize it.
Does my DVD-ROM not read DVD-R??

It sometimes get recognised incorrectly in the bios. There is no problem with the bios though.

When this happens, the drives starte misbehaving.

Hi, i just brought a Liteon 166S and it can read CDs well and fast too. however, if I put in a DVD, it will read only up to 3/4 of the DVD and starts slowing down and quit. Not sure if it's a defective drive, if so, i will return it or is there other solution to this problem?

I am considering this drive, because Sony claims it is DVD-R/RW, DVD+RW read ready.

Does anyone have any experience with this drive? Is it noisy when watching DVDs?
