I flashed my firmware on my Pioneer 105D quite a while ago and it has been running OK, but I just upgraded Nero from 6.3.0.16 to 6.6 before realizing they aren't compatible so uninstalled and reinstalled 6.3.0.16 now this has been running OK burning CDs with my LiteOn. I hadn't used the Pioneer until a friend said his Pioneer 105D was being recognized as a 106D in Windows (he had just reinstalled WindowsXP with ...

Here's some info about my Pioneer DVr-109XL. I copied the movie Philadelphia using DVDShrink and burning with Nero. Sorry, but the graph would not copy here.

Used the following: 1X to 8X speed

Drive Type = DVD DUAL

I've got a Toshiba SD-R6252 DVD+RW drive in my laptop, and it seems to be working OK, except for not recognizing DVD+RWs. Firmware has been updated, I tried Maxell and Samsung media, and still it just appears as if there's no disc in the drive.

I got this drive as a replacement from HP instead of a Sony DVD+RW, which was about the same: able to do all but writing DVD+RWs, although it recognized them ...

Just wondering - I dont yet have a DVD burner, but am curious as to how long it takes to back up a DL DVD on a 2.4x DL DVD Burner ?

Would a 4x DL DVD Burner speed it up much ?

Laslty, even though I know such speed units dont yet exist, what sort of DVD DL burner speed would be required to backup a DL DVD in say around 3 minutes ? ...

I'm using DVD Shrink to rip DVDs and back them up using Nero OEM. When I go through this process the first time, my home theater DVD player won't recognize the backup DVD and my computer won't play the sound from it.
