News of DVD Writers

HI, I was wondering if anyone has tested Ritek 4X DVD-R with the PLextor 708a. I need to know if it works ok, I heard of people having problems with RItek and the new Plextor. Were the burns good, did they play back in standalond dvd player, ps2, and/or xbox fine? Thanks.

Im sorry this maybe a newbie Q but im really desperate for help.

When I first bought this, it worked great with my standard dell pc and burned with most programs except PrimoDVD and Recordnow Max.

I bought a new motherboard: Abit KV7 and no programs will now recognise my burner

In device manager it displays the full name "Sony DWU-14A DVDRW" so i know the computer is finding the burner ok but I dont ...

I can read from my 411s, but neither NeroExpress 5.5 or InstantCD/DVD (argh, horrible software) see my ldw-411s as a burner. I read someone else post a similar issue, but not a detailed fix description. Can some one give me a pointer? I am running XP SP1. My 411s is upgraded to FS0F and is seen by Winblows and reads just fine. :cry:

I am using DVD Xcopy Express 3.02, Pioneer 106 with 1.07 firmaware and Fujifilm DVD-R. When I play my copies of movies in my Panasonic XP50 DVD player I get massive pixelation throughout the movies but they play fine on my Xbox? Any and all feedback is welcomed. (Xbox is not normally hooked up to main enternainment system so using it as primary DVD player is not an option plus it's not progressive scan)

i just got the tdk 8x burner. question is should i cancel the order and wait for dual layer dvd burners? i havent kept up w/ comp hardware for awhile then did some reseach, and now im questioning my purchase. wht do the EXPERTS in here think ? :D

I am using Sony CDR-140E and considering to switch to DVD writer family. Heard that NU is a good choice because it offers good quality at low price. But I still have some questions and hope that someone can help:

(1) is DVD writer technology is really mature enough ? Is the burned CDR as stable as those burned by CDR writer ?

(2) I am using Sony (the LiteOn core) CDR and ...

I'm a newbie in DVD world, but i have a problem who needs some answer.
i've just finishing burning two dvd9 movies to dvdr.
i used dvd decrypter and dvdshrink to do the transcoding, and i've used nero (one time) and burnatonce the other time to burn the dvd.
the movie is great, good quality,sound, etc.
but my extras, such as scenes that have been cut,interviews, etc, don't have any sound.Why is that?

I'm looking for a replacement for my DRU500A. Which burner would you guys (and girls) suggest for around $100. I've got a very small amount of christmas money looking to be spent on tech goodies.
