Just bought my Lite-On LTD 166S from ComputerGeeks in California...was relieved to find out that they ship USPS so I wouldn't be getting an insane $28 brokerage fee from UPS at border...((INSANE))

I picked up a DRU-500A last weekend and I'm having no luck with CD-R burning right now....... I keep getting Power Calibration Errors in Nero 5.5.9.17.... :(
I bought some 2X DVD-Rs from www.cdrdvdrmedia.com and I was wondering who exactly made them. Is there a utility that will show where they came from like there is for CDRs?
So I've got the DRU-500A.... I'm lookin' to back up a bunch of Data... to ensure more widespread compatibility should I use +R(W) or -R(W) media? I'm leaning towards +, but wanted some input....

apparently (as well as the NEC ND-1100) uses a different burning technology in order the support dual (DVD- and DVD+) burning.

Someone on another forum suggested that the Stomp upgrade might fix people's problems with (some) media and the DRU-500A.
I don't know if that poster meant that RecordNow (meaning standard edition) (may have) had issues with some media that the Max version won't, or whatever...
