CD-RW doesn't like Nero and SVCD's

This is a norcent 48x12x48x CD-rw drive. It works great on burning audio cd's, data cd's, even VCD's.

However, when it came time for me to burn some SVCD's on it, this thing just sucks.

I use mode/2 DAO in Nero, and although the CD burns perfectly fine, the CD is unreadable by all devices. In windows xp, it gives a error message "disc maybe corrupt".

I then downloaded the SVCD test file from vcdhelp.com ...

New way to BSOD InCD

I have a BTC DVD-ROM and a Norcent CD-RW. I use the CD-RW mainly as a *large floppy* for backups using InCD. After getting some conflicting Adaptec & Iomega files cleaned from my Win2K system, I was having no problems with InCD (3.51.61) at all.

The BTC DVD-ROM for some reason has rather severe low speed vibration at times (it is vertically oriented, but supposedly designed for that), particularly on bootup when a disc is ...

InCD problems

I know that Ahead's InCD has a reputation for reliability, better anyway than Roxio's DirectCD. However, after installing the latest versions of Nero (5.5.10.0) and InCD (3.51.61) on a clean installation of Windows XP Home with SP1, I found that InCD crashes like crazy. Or, rather, it causes Explorer to crash. I uninstalled InCD, installed DirectCD, and patched it to 5.3.2, although I kept Nero and did not install Easy CD Creator, and have not ...

Any advantage in buying NERO boxed over serial upgrade?

I have Nero OEM but only works with my Yamaha. I can not used with my HP dvd burner in the same computer.

I understand I can upgrade my serial number for $19.00 online but Compusa has NERO BOXED for $19.00+tax on sale this week.

Is there any advantage on buying the boxed version?
