I was at CompUSA a couple of weeks ago, and some lady bought a 250MB Zip Drive.

I was thinking "what a waste of $$$". My friends all agree, and have ditched Zip drives over 4 years ago.

Why do ppl continue to buy these dinosaurs?

Last week I wanted to save some data onto a CDR at work. My colleague has a new PC with burner (Artec 48/16/50), so I pulled out a Verbatim Ultraspeed-RW. No go- it wants to write this at 4x. OK, I had a CDR with an open session, but it was started with Win-On-CD. I hadn't continued one of these with Nero, and was not in the mood for experiments (I was in a hurry). ...

Anybody have any stories to tell of extraordinary (or not so extraordinary) customer service and support with any computer hardware companies? Just to get the ball rolling, look at the links below for raves about LG and Plextor customer service.

I am so glad I found this site. I never knew what brand of CD-RW's were good, and what kind of media were good.

Everything I've learned from this site absolutely is in line with my experiences.

My 1st internal CD-RW is a Lite-On, a burn-proof Cendyne 12x10x32x CDRW sold by CostCo that has given me many many problem-free discs. Now my 2nd and 3rd internal CD-RW's are also Lite-Ons, of which I am really ...

I keep asking the same question over and over.
What is the deal with Lite-On's horrible cpu usage?

Lite-On fanatics come up with all sorts of excuses.
i.e. I'm a huge fan of lite-on, cpu usage isn't a problem
for me. Or, it's not an issue, I have a very fast computer.
Or, why are you being picky? Or, it's simply a firmware
issue, they'll get to it eventually. Etc, etc,...

If everyone else can ...

People never understand that its important to know every little detail on a peice of hardware. When you buy a piece of hardware its good to know every little thing about it no matter what it is because one thing could make you not want to buy it. Its always important to know the disadvantages before you even bought it. Most people will just buy it before making sure.

Just had a really bad experience with Overstock.com
It seems that you can't cancel any order and if you return an item (whether you tried cancelling it or not) they charge you a restocking fee and it's 15% on all electronics orders.

why doesnt the site's search feature work?

I cant search the forums.. I have tried EVERYTHING.... but everytime I come up with the same error saying that "No topics or posts met your search criteria" no matteer what I search for!!!

Please tell me if I am imagining things. It seems that in the last week or so there have been a number of instances of a strange phenomenon where people either don't believe replies to their posts or don't even bother reading those replies.
