Ok I know what the problem. When ever i burn a reg cdr it stays in DMA mode but once i start to burn a dvd it switches back to PIO. If it is driver problems i guess iam screwed cause those remix drivers screw me over every time, so right now iam just using the nforce drivers, and i tired to do that roll back deal to get the Microsoft ide drivers but it would do anything. say somthing like No driver has been backed up for this device.
So now iam at a dead end but i know the dvd burner is not shot. any more ideas.
