For those that didn't know:

myopia = nearsightedness

jtan, I haven't. However, I've had it recommended to me to help with some of the vision problems caused by sitting in front of a computer all day.

actually, i regret it when i was told to wear eyeglass... to those of you with normal eyesight, get to wear reading glass when staying in front of computer so your eyes will relax.

to those with -2.50 to -3.00, don't wear eyeglass at all when using computer, your myopia will get worse...

Yeah, I really need to get computer glasses one of these days.

Computers are evil when it comes to vision. Believe it or not, I didn't wear glasses at all before college. Over the last 10 years or so, my vision has gone down the toilet.

Yeah Ian.Computers really mess with eyes.I dont have spects as yet,but all members in my family carry them.They all say that I will join their league due to my computer.
And my sister was operated by a laser operation which was 100% successfull.She had a -4 to both her eyes and now it's almost nil,so she doesnt have to wear spects.
See ya guys later,

I don't hold much of this "eye exercises against myopia" stuff. My sister-in-law came up with that one a few years ago, with the connotation that "having to wear glasses is a sign of deficiencies in character". :roll: I'm sure they help to reduce stress though.

I've worn glasses as long as I can remember and, until I started to need bifocals 2 years ago, my prescription was constant for over 30 years. And I've worked with computers for most of that time (aside: trying to decipher punch cards is as hard on the eyes as this newfangled monitor stuff), so I can't say that that's impaired my vision. I am considering a special set of glasses for computer work, though- mainly because the "near field" isn't always where I want it.

Interesting. What is it that has to be done as far as exercises go?

I knew somebody that had a wicked case of lazy eye (one looking at you and one jacked up to the rafters). They did some kid of exercise to help with it. I guess it worked. I knew yet another person that used the glasses that had little holes in them so that you had to focus through it. Not sure what thats for, though.
