thanks everyone.

he's 29 hours old now and very cute.

took a few pics of him to day with my new digital camera (well, isn't it grand that i have such a great excuse to spend gobs of money on gadgets? :D )
i don't think they're very good though. i'm not quite into digital photography yet.
anyway, i think i've read (not sure but don't want to take any chances) that it's bad to flash in the eyes of little ones, so i'm not using the flash and indoor light isn't too good.

when i'll get some way of hosting the pics i'll put a few here (i don't have any webspace :( )

mom is OK, getting slowly better. man, getting your belly sliced can't be good.
i spend as much time with her as possible.

today he tried to breast-feed. apparently it isn't going too well, but hopefully it will improve. my wife wants to breast feed him very much.

ah...so much to do, so many things to arrange/prepare etc....and there's work...and being with the wife @ hostpital......no time to sleep... :o

what can i say, my friend? great minds think alike :P :D

when i had first thought of this topic i would post, i too had though of referring to him as Icosahedron :D :D :D

but then thought Dodecahedron Jr. sounds better :D

Icosahedron because you do want him to go a step further than his Dad. But however you refer to him, it's great that he's there. :D

As to webspace- check with your provider. They often provide some free space (mine does).

don't all dads ?

but then, which is 'further', the dodecahedron or icosahedron?
i think it depends on how you look at it.
for some reason, i've always thought of the dodecahedron as 'further', well, as the most 'advanced' Platonic solid. maybe it's the pentagoanl faces.
but then that's my personal preference. :D

Congratulations!

Is he your first? Your wife will be sore and not very mobile for a month or two yet.

1 seems easy to me now. 2 is difficult.

Forget about sleep for a while. Coffee is your new best friend.

We need pictures when you find the time

Here he is doing his best 50's Greaser imitation (check out that slicked back hair  )

just a few minutes ago: dady's first diaper change! :D
luckily, he had only peed.
we'll have to wait and see if what people say is true - that the little baby's poo is really cute and not bad smelling...?

On the poo thing, listen to Bill Cosby's "Fatherhood".

Congrats, Dodec. For all the work it entails, I hear the rewards are tenfold. :)

well...cute may be an exaggeration, but as for not bad smelling, well so they say...has to do with the lil' one's digestion and feeding on mother's milk.
like i said, i haven't got the chance to verify that yet, but probably will in the very near future :o

Bad smelling poo?

Wait until they start on solid food.

By the 2nd child though, its no big deal. I can say that: I've got 2.
