LightScribe Host Software - Bad Link?

Postby Ian on Fri Apr 22, 2005 11:43 am

Nero tells me to update my LightScribe Host Software and gives me a link where to download it. Unfortunately, it doesn't work.

http://dl1.nero.com/LS_HSI.exe

Craig, you aware of this?

Sorry, I was away from the forums for a while.

I'll have that other link checked, but glad you found a link that was working.

yup agree with Ian....the LS DVD+R des not seem to be supported at this moment...strange that HP adopted different media LS code for CDR and DVDR

using both verbatim's LS CDR and DVDR..LS is supported on the CDR but not on the DVDR...thanks Ian fo confirming..

This thread has been very helpful for getting my BenQ DW1625 working. I have Verbatim LightScribe CD-Rs and DVD+Rs and was getting pretty frustrated with the DVDs until I found this thread. I got the drive to label the DVD+Rs by going to:

http://www.surething.com/ST/Category.as ... BE_SUPPORT

This works for me using both EasyMedia Creator 7.5 and Nero Cover Designer 2.3. I attached a similar screen shot as one of the prior posts and you can see the LightScribe version number is higher (1.0.22.1 compared to 1.0.13.1 from Nero).

Has Nero replied to anyone's tech support questions on this subject? The reply they sent me just included the link to LS_HSI.EXE again and was totally useless, despite my description of the problem that I already downloaded this and it did not fix the problem.

The SureThing LS host file is dated 22-Feb-05, so you would think Nero would have been able to post something equivalent over two months later.

Hi Everyone,

A new LightScribe host software version is being tested by our QA team in Germany, and as soon as this has passed QA, it will be uploaded to the web. Hopefully very soon.
