Hello!

A DVD+R have two types, the physical (disc-type) is DVD+R, you can´t change it. The other type (book-type) is normally DVD+R, but with some writers you can change it to DVD-ROM. Some drives/players now think it´s a pressed DVD-ROM and maybe the player play it, when it won´t play the disc with the booktype DVD+R

How you can set it? It depends on what writer do you use. With Liteon you can set it (before burning) with their booktype-utility, with some other writers like Benq, newer LG´s you can choose it in Nero in the recorder-properties.
Benq DW 1640 and 1650 , Plextor PX-755, Pioneer BDR-208 and 209D, LG GH24NSC0, LG BH16NS40 and 16NS55, Liteon ihas 124F and 324F, Pioneer DVR-215 and S21, Samsung SH-224DB and 224GB, and some more

Hello!

Klick on the to the right of the pulldown where the name of the recorder is or "choose recorder" in the recorder-menu. In the window that now showed you can open a advanmced menu (don´t know the name, my Nero is german)

Your recorder is an NEC 3500-OEM, don´t know if it can booktype-setting, NEC 3500 can do it only with the newest Firmware.

well, this is what i see when i click the Options button.

it seems that your drive does not support booktype setting (bitsetting).
at least not with the firmware you have now.
there might be other firmwares for the drive that do have this feature.

try checking up at rpc1.org.

That means that the TDK don´t can bitsetting with Nero :(

Maybe you can crossflash your TDK to a NEC, but it voids the guarantee:

Snubby; First welcome to CDRLabs, the best and easy way to set the book type just open your Nero CDSpeed program go to the tools and open the booktype make sure your drive shows at the window then try to set the DVD+R, DVD+RW to DVD-ROM click OK and that is it.
