This is the only burn u post thats very good imho. The others are still good, but PIF-total <1000 and the cluster are not good enogh for this media.

I´m not sure is this the writers fault or u have some batches of media with not so good quality

Yeah, FW-support was good and the good media don´t change that much in the past years, so the Plextor can handle it

Don't think they make a BD burner that does that like the BenQ and Plextor drives did. You can really see it in the quality graphs, the PIE and all that started climbing so it dropped speed and it cleaned right up. I still have a few 1655, 1640, and maybe a 1620 around plus a old NEC 2500 because they burned so well or accidentally got some great new feature that was ground breaking at the time.

I think the manufacturer of DVD-writers/media don´t develop this things since some years, so what would change? I know every year MTK release a new chipset, but the difference to the predecessor ? Dunno, the speed is equal since x-models.

My Benq 1640 still do good with many media and beat newer drives from LG/Liteon, but I think his life is (mechanically) almost over. Nothing last forever, I use the Benq only for special things ;)

Pioneers BD-drives also not bad with good media.

My 1655 the tray belt slips so many times the tray refuses to open but it still works as far as I know and it's in my latest tower build along with a LG H20L and a 7260. Everything else is in my old tower with the hex core AMD and win 7.
