I'm using the A7V333.
Does the CD-RW drive and DVD-ROM show up in the BIOS? Have you tried installing VIA's newest 4-in-1 drviers for the IDE controller? If that doesn't work, try installing Microsoft's generic IDE controller drivers. Don't forget to check the power and IDE cables as well as the jumper settings.

try setting the DVD to secondary master and the cd-rw drive has secondary slave. However, if you plan to do a lot of disc to disc copying, I would then suggest the DVD be set to primary slave and the CD-RW drive set to secondary master.
