Aopen CDRW DRIVE IS GIVEIN ME A HEAD ACHE!

Postby mau108 on Tue Mar 11, 2003 2:15 pm

Ok I have a Aopen CRW 3248 (32x12x48 burner)

My system is an XP PRO machine with VIA Chipset and Intel PII.

I have the latest firmware for the bios and the burner, latest via drivers tooo...but for some reason my burner reads any cd put in as and AUDIO CD (i.e. Track 01, Track 02 ) even if its a data cd :@

I put the same cd into my other optical drive (12x DVD) and it works perfectly fine....

Whats up with this?

I am thinking that you might have a corrupted ASPI driver...What do you guys think?

I think it might be an issue with the drive itself, since the same CDs placed in another drive on the same(?) system are recognized properly. Can you try moving the drive to another system and see if the problem follows? If it does, then the only two options for solving the problem that I can think of right now are to reflash the drive and, if that doesn't work, send it back for repair.
