Toshiba 1712 Firmware rips slow?!?!

How fast is too fast?

Toshiba 1712 Firmware rips slow?!?!

Postby gigabyte on Thu Dec 25, 2003 3:21 am

I recent;y ripped Freaky Friday. It took me 15 minutes. I then lent it to my friend who ripped it with his samsung drive and it took him 9 minutes! I did a speed test and here are my results:

Why is it so slow? I used the no limits firmware and I'm pretty sure DMA is enabled

He did, it just didn't show up because it was on a Geocities server, here it is, I threw it up on mine:

gigabyte,

Try to get it on something besides geocities or a similar free server page, they often don't support directly linking images to other sites, as is the case this time.

It may be the actual disk. I have noticed that very rarely, if a disk is heavily scratched or damaged in some way, my LTD-163D will rip it very slowly.

Hard drive you're ripping to and Toshiba should not be on the same IDE channel to achieve best performance...
