When I think Sanyo I think cheap. Not in the sense that its not going to work or anything like that just not feature packed and loaded with performance.

Agreed. Sanyo's LCD products have been really good based on my experience.

This is my first posts on CDRLabs, but some of you will know me from other sites as well! Kenshin, how are your wife and daughter? Everything fine?

Back to the thread.

This thing looks really great and I think I'm gonna buy it as soon as it's available, but just one question.

It doesn't support CD+G as I've seen in the first post of this thread.

What does this mean? What can I not do with this drive, because it doesn't support this feature??

Welcome to CDRLabs. Yeah, everything is fine. Even her toes and fingers look bigger now. :D

CD+G? I'm not sure but it sure does DVD+R DL.

I didn't know that. Sanyo also makes great products.

Not only Matsushita but also Mitsubishi and all other major Japanese business groups were split by force right after WW II. Despite that, Matsushita is still one of the largest economic units in the world intimately controlled by a few persons, or a family. Sony and Samsung are the key competitors in consumer electronics.

Hi Kenny. As you said the other day,Samsung earns more in Korea than LG.I had thought that LG is more diversified than Samsung and hence earns more.LG has only a little more market share here in India than Samsung.

Yeah, you are right about Mitsubishi. They were completely banned from manufacturing engines for planes and tanks.Still Mitsubishi makes good cars.We have their model called Lancer here in India, which is quite good.

i bet he's talking about the "el cheapo" 4 cylinder sedans.

for quite a few years they were the best selling family car here in Israel.

I dont know about "el-cheapo 4cyl sedan or the Evolution".
The model is a sedan, allright. It is considered as a good car in the low-luxury end here in India. In the middle segments come cars like Toyota Camry and the high end consists of Merc.

Yeah, the bog-standard Lancer, it sells as a luxury car here. Would be cool to see the Evo here though, as also the Impreza WRX and 22B!

Yeah, Mitsubishi was behind the Japanese imperial conquest in which Korea was the first victim. Naturally, it is very difficult to find a Mitsubishi car in South Korea even now. However, I'll buy Toyota or Mitsubishi instead of Hyundai if the price is the same as in the US.

BTW, there are some Taiwan-made Mitsubishi DVD media in South Korean market recently found and they don't seem as good as Japan-made Mitsubishi media. I don't know which company in Taiwan makes media for Mtsubishi.

Just to clarify, the founder of Sanyo, Toshio Iue, was brother-in-law of the founder of Matsushita, and worked for Matsushita until the end of WW II. He, instead of the founder, decided to resign from Matsushita due to the General Headquarters of Allied Forces' policy on Japanese companies that had supported Japan's military effort by producing munitions, and started Sanyo in 1947. I had just read somewhere that Matsushita was split into Sanyo.

Thanks a lot for the link.

It works 12X on YUDEN000T02 but thats all. I messed up my screenshot and now i dont have any extra discs to prove it. I wouldnt really call it a PX712A killer; the performance between the two is pretty similar. If you need DVD RAM however, the choice is obvious.

It really works at 12x.

http://www.storageinfo.co.kr/EzMODse/vi ... hp?t=17792

The columns are: Media (Type), Media (Manufacturer), Label Speed, Maximum Writing Speed

That's(DVD+R) YUDEN000T02 8x 12x

LITEON(DVD+R) RICOHJPNR02 8X 12X

Vervatim(DVD+R) MCC003 8x 8x

Ridata(DVD+R) Ritek R03 8x 8x

That's(DVD+R) Yuden000T01 4x 4x

Ridata(DVD+R) RicohJPNR01 4x 4x

Verbatim(DVD+R) MCC002 4x 4x

BeAll(DVD+R) BeAll000P40 4x 4x

There's not just DVD-RAM. The price is much lower and DL's something quite a lot of users want. PX-712(S)A is faster than GSA-4120B so if one wants just the fastest writer available on the market, the choice is obvious. I want the S-ATA 712SA if the price is no more than US$200. I'll get 4120B prerferably in a USB2/1394 external box regardless of PX-712.

I was not particularly impressed with the drive. The DVD+R9s we burned were all coasters.
