I was just browsing the ebuyer website and under their new products they have a Sony CRX300E 48/24/48/16 CD-RW/DVD-ROM combo drive, does anyone have one or know whether it's any good compared to the other combo drives around? The price is about the same as the other drives too.

GCC-4480B can't read back RAW DAO!

Hello,

Alcohol Support Team tested this drive, they find LG GCC-4480B cannot read the disc which is burned by itself's RAWDAO mode, but you can put the disc into another cd/dvd devices, they can read the disc very well.

It is really funny, we will report this bug to LG, let them know this problem.

Liteon, Asus or ???

Was in my local Best Buy and happened to look at the Verbatim VBT522452As that were on sale this week. A while ago there was a post here where someone pointed out that you could tell if the drive inside was a Liteon or an Asus by looking at the serial number on the box. It was said that if the serial number was a 12-character, all numbers one thenit was a Liteon, whereas if ...

Asus vs. Liteon

I'm going to buy a burner and a DVD drive (seperate drives), I was wondering whether I should be getting the Asus's 52x24x52x or the Liteon's 52x24x52x? Also, I can't seem to decide on Liteon's and Asus's DVD 16x drives. I'm getting frustrated...please help me decide! May be a a list of disadvantages and advantages the drives may help.
BTW, I've already read the reviews on CDRlabs.
Again, thanks to those who helps.

Samsung 52X24X52 question(s)

I just bought a Samsung 52X24X52. I wanted the 8Mb buffer and it was the only one I can find. Amazing review. One of the best. Anyway it's white/beige and my computer is black. I want to paint it. What sort of paint should I use...I want it to be flat and not shiny.

Bring out the ideas boys.

Thanx.

Pacific Digital or Micro Advantage?

Hi guys, I have a chance to get either a Pacific Digital 52x24x52x or a Micro Advantage 52x24x52x. They are both at the same price, and I think they are both the same drive, BTC rebagged.

So I think the deciding factor would be company reputation and rebate fullfillment (same amount). So what do you guys think:

1. Which company is better at handle warranty and replacement, Pacific Digital or Micro Advantage?

2. Whose rebate ...
