I noticed in the discussions about Pioneer 109D, the terms CAV and PCAV are used. I know what CAV is: Constant Angular Velocity. But what does P in PCAV stand for? Thanks in advance.
i bought 5- 15 packs of maxell 8x DVD-R for $4.20each plus tax at staples. when i saw made in japan, i thought i was getting TY's but when i got home, i opened one pack and found out that they were MXL RG03. i am not sure if i should take them back and look for 4X MAXELL that are for sure TY's. does anyone have kprobe/ or any scans of this media?
Been getting this error on 2 different discs a friend recorded for me:
They both play fine on the PC & Standalone players, but won't rip. All of my other DVDs rip fine, including 3 more from the same recorder. What's the problem? Can I get around it?
HI,
i have downloaded and installed the latest firmware for the plextor.
i think this allows the plextor to read & write dvd-r d/l discs,
correct me if i am wrong,
in plextools which i am using the latest version, under feature
it does not show dvd-r support, also mount rainer is showing absent.
firmware 103 showed it used the mount rainer facility.
I'm asking this because my set-top DVD player is finicky about playing 4x DVD+RW media when burned at 4x. It likes it much much better when I burn at 2.4x. Since there are some good deals around for 2.4x rewritable media I thought I'd ask the question...
So my question is: In general, would there be a significant difference in quality between burning media at 2.4x that is rated at 4x vs burning at 2.4x ...
