I have a spindle of CMC MAG F01 4x DVD+R's and I am trying to find the best FW to use with the BENQ1620 drive?

From what I read these are my options:

B7S9
B7M9
B7T9

I also read that these 4x DVD+R's can be overburned to 8x.

I would like some feedback from all the guru BENQ1620 owners.

I recently purchased a Dell laptop and I took the NEC ND-6500A with it because it was an 8X DVD-and+R and Dual Layer.
I can not seem to find any reviews on it.
I am wondering if someone could tell me if its good or bad ? and which media it likes to burn on.

Ok its not funny anymore. I have about 3 200 disc cd wallets of dvdrs of misc crap. About a month ago i noticed that my dvd movies werent playing at the end of some newly burnt movies. I'm having problems with a 5 month old LG GSA 4081b. When I initially installed it it worked perfectly, recording on any type of blank DVD I used. Now it will read DVD's and CD's that have already been written to but will not recognize a blank DVD that I want to record onto.

When the DVD tray is closed it say DVD-RAM Drive (D:) when opened it changes to CD Drive (D:)

Anyone noticed/heard of that this drive has a rip-speed-limiter "feature"? If I am not mistaken my old Pioneer A06 could rip alot faster (with the appropriate firmware of course :)). Anyone knows if a similar "fix" is available for the PX716 drive since it is really slow ripping...

When I updated my Pioneer A07 drive to the the 1.18 firmware from the 1.12 firmware, I have noticed randomly the drive will make a high pitch noise when reading a burned dvd. It happens doing a nero dvd speed transfer rate test, surface scan test, and file test. I can't remember if it was there with the 1.12 firmware.

Has anyone else noticed this high pitched noise, that happens randomly, when reading a burned ...

Does anyone knows how come those manufacturers CDs that come with your motherboard/video card/monitor/burner etc.....)all have the same clear data surface and they last forever and most importantly, those CDs can be read by all CD/DVD Rom and CD/DVD burners? whereas those CDRs that we bought from the store all DO NOT have the clear data surface (even the best TY disc made in Japan)? and once you burned these discs, some of them just ...

I'm in the market for a DVD/CD Burner and would like to know which is the Best for a REASONABLE Price.
