News of Nero (Formerly Ahead Software)

Has anyone determined what exactly went wrong with InCD v3.37? This version caused huge problems with my WinXP Home system (bluescreens at startup, etc.) and just plain didn't work. Took me forever to figure out what was causing my system to go nuts :evil:

Went back to v3.31 and all is well again. It seems others have the same issues as me. Surely, Ahead must realize there ...

I'm using Nero 5.5.9.14 and I can't seem to close the CD (CD-R) even when I click on 'No Multisession' (File > Compilation Info > Multisession Tab) or Finalize CD (File > Compilation Info > Burn Tab). I tried burning using both Track-at-Once and Disc-at-Once, but every time I try and add another session to the 'closed' CD, Nero still allows me to do so (just gives a warning). I have a Plextor 48/24/48 CDRW and I have owned all previous Plextor CDRW drives starting with the 24/10/40 CDRW and I have a question : why does Nero never display the actual writing speed when burning a disc ?
It always says : Writing at xxxxx, the exact speed I selected, even though it writes at a lower speed or even in P-CAV mode, when the speed changes constantly, my drives always display the ...

Does anyone know why would Nero be capable to damage the firmware of the Sony laptop docking station?

i have a lot of mp3's that have Asian language characters in the title... when i burn mp3's i just like to drag folders into Nero Express... well Nero can not read these Asian language characters and it just leaves the files out... is there any solution to this...? the burn software that came with XP does it, but i am trying to avoid using that since it does not let me control some stuff ...

I'm having some problems making bootable CD's. I want to use them with some Drive Image's so I can just put the disks in and it'll go, no user intervention. Anyway, when I make my boot CD using Nero (and in Roxio actually too), I can't see the whole CD. In Windows I can see the image files and if I boot from the CD, it only sees the boot disk part of the CD, ...

I just purchased the Sony CRX195E1 CD-R/RW 40x/12x/48x...everything went fine, until I decided I was actually gonna use it...I launched Nero, and popped up with the choose recorder box, with only "Virtual device" as a selection. Sure, the program that came with the burner recognizes it, but B(itche)'s Recorder gold is, at least in my opinion, a P.O.S. compared to Nero...have any suggestions? or should I just try Roxio instead?

I am just about to start using Nero for some things.

Since I have not followed the history of Nero upgrades, could someone please tell me if in a past upgrade if you ever noticed something, a feature, a button, a routine, taken away in the new "upgraded" version? I have seen this happen before in certain software.

I changed out my old 12x8x42 CD-rw with this new 40x12x48 drive and it will not write faster than 12x.
I've uninstall Roxio 5.0 and tried to reinstall it, but it doesn't help.

I've tried to install Nero 5.5.82 that came with the drive and it still is limited to 12x burn rate (using Memorex 32x CD's).

I've uninstalled both and removed any mention to Adaptec and Nero from my registery, but still is limited ...
