Hi guys.I was recently visiting my regular computer shoppe and found that the guy had cheap DVD-R media for sale.The brand was Akari.It came in a spindle of 50 DVD's.The guy was selling the media for Rs.12,i.e.,only 26 US cents.

When I got home,I checked the media using SmartBurn 3.1.1.6.It reported the media from Taiyo Yuden,media code was TYG02.Loose Sony media is sold at about Rs.28,i.e.,62 cents a piece.

Looking to get one of these for my daughter for Christmas. Anyone have any advise of which is the best of the three. I leaning towards the ZEN 30GB W. But you know how kids are. The craze is the IPOD, but I think the ZEN gives a bit more compatability. I've seen the ZUNE, but it looks huge, not that the ZEN doesn't. Strange thing with these drives is that it seems the results that all the tests showed in a previous thread in this section work exactly opposite on my system. The Lite-On is supposed to be better at ripping CDs, but sometimes the Asus will be able to rip a few songs the Lite-On can't on badly scratched or damaged CDs. I have read some post on here and cdfreaks.com that seem to indicate that the Verbatim 6x DVD-RW media are some of the best rewriteable media available. However, I cannot seem to find anyone that is selling them.

If someone has had success purchasing or using these, please reply where you found them or if you recommend any alternatives---I would really love to find some quality 8X DVD+/- RW--that is if they burn well in ...
