News of Video Editing

I am using Audacity to convert audio cassette music to CD's. The playbacks are clear but produce frequent hiccups. I have adjusted the input levels so there is no clipping. Are there any pointers someone can tell me about to improve my playbacks? Thanks for any help.

I have recently bought a LG DS-9533 DivX player.It is an excellent player that plays every thing that I have ripped or downloaded from the net.

But I am having some problems when I convert a video file using VirtualDub to a AVI file.The file plays fine in the DVD player.But I am not able to use the fast forward and back scan features in that title that I have converted using VirtualDub.Also ...

My friend is trying to copy his "purchased VCR" to his computer to then burn to DVD. He has some hardware to allow the capture from his VCR to the computer.
His problem is that when he burns to DVD there seems to be a split second break every 10 seconds or so - we pressume this is probably the video security device to stop the copy of the video.

Found out that my own captured video material, like transfered VHS tapes, that play well on my standalone dvd-players, dont play good on my new Playstation 2 , the video plays shock-wise like hick-ups... i'm using CCE-basic for MPEG2 coding, Besweet for AC3 coding, and DVDLab for authoring, bitrate settings for video doesn't seem to be the problem.....

I am having some questions for video encoding/decoding experts.I am trying to encode my video clips to DivX & XVID.I was using Dr.DivX 1.06 for all these days.But from last couple of weeks I am facing problems using Dr.DivX.I had downloaded Dr.DivX 2,but I was not comfortable using it.

Hi, I have just captured from my vcr a documentary that takes, in raw avi, 60 gb on my hard disk. I'm about to transcode it into MPEG 2. I am thinking of buying a DivX player to play the files on my TV.I will probably go for Pioneer or LG.

What I would like to know is,which format do these players play.I mean can they play DivX Pro files encoded with different DivX versions?Also can they play files which are interleaved with different audio tracks,like AC3 or MP3?

Finally at what bit rates should I encode the video for optimum performance ...
