CMC Magnetics and Ritek, the top two makers of optical discs in Taiwan, will each float unsecured ECBs (euro convertible bonds) worth US$200 million in order to procure manufacturing equipment for Blu-ray and/or HD-DVD discs, while also bolstering their finances, according to the two companies.The article also mentions that Optodisc and Prodisc are trying to raise additional funds by offering new shares to target investors.
