Roxio has announced the latest version of their Easy Media Creator suite. Version 9 offers a number of new features including mobile entertainment support, Blu-ray Disc recording and Windows Vista compatibility.

Nero has announced a major update to its Nero 7 software suite. This update supports a number of new features including the ability to encode video for portable devices and stream video to the Xbox 360.
Nero, leaders in digital media technology, unveiled details today of a major worldwide update to its premier Nero 7 digital media software suite. This latest version includes more than 21 applications, with features that enable the efficient transfer of audio and video files to mobile phones and the streaming of live TV and other content to a Windows Media Center Edition PC or Xbox 360(TM). The update will be available at retail stores and online (www.nero.com) in September 2006. Current Nero 7 customers will be able to download the update from the website free of charge at that time.

Erik Deppe has released yet another version of CD-DVD Speed. Along with the usual bug fixes and improvements, this new version features new icons and improved support for HD DVD and Blu-ray.

Here's an interesting bit of news. Corel has announced that it will buy InterVideo for $196 million in cash.
Canadian software company Corel Corp. said Monday it is buying InterVideo Inc., a provider of multimedia DVD software, for about $196 million in cash.

The acquisition values InterVideo at $13 per share. The company's stock closed at $9.60 on Friday, and is up $3.04, or 31.7 percent, to $12.64 in morning trading on the Nasdaq.

Corel said the acquisition gives it access to Asian markets, including China, Taiwan and Japan, that the company had been eyeing for expansion.

Nero sent out a press release this morning, announcing that they have agreed to become Audible's preferred CD burning software provider. As a result, Nero 7 will support the Audible file format for CD burning and playback.

CyberLink sent out a press release this morning, announcing that they've been working with Sun Microsystems to incorporate Java technology into PowerDVD BD Edition.

Ulead a new version of their DVD MovieFactory software. According to their press release, DVD MovieFactory 5 Plus includes additional content and templates, support for LabelFlash and new applications like the Blu-ray Direct-to-Disc Recorder.

CyberLink sent out a press release today, announcing that their BD Solution suite is being shipped with HLDS' new Blu-ray Disc writer, the GBW-H10N.
CyberLink Corp. (5203.TW), a world leader in digital home solutions, announced today that CyberLink BD Solution is being shipped with HLDS' latest BD-RE burners, the GBW-H10N drive series.
