Lite-On, renowned as an Optical Storage innovator, has today announced its first solid state drive (SSD) for the UK. The E200 SSD is aimed at small/medium business users, with a design which is easily integrated into existing systems for minimal disruption and with a fast, consistent and reliable performance over time - at an affordable cost.

"With the E200 we aim to challenge the concept that SSDs are an unaffordable luxury for SMB; our aim is that smaller companies will be able to experience the increased speed and performance that a fast SSD provides," says Maarten Souren, Marketing Manager at Lite-On.

SanDisk Extreme 240GB Solid State Drive

Designed with enthusiasts and gamers in mind, this high-performance SSD is powered by LSI's SandForce SF-2281 processor and features a SATA 6GB/s interface, native TRIM support and DuraClass technology. The Extreme also uses a custom firmware and SanDisk's own 24nm MLC Toggle Mode NAND flash to deliver up to 555MB/s read and 520MB/s write speeds for fast boot times and application launches.

Synology Launches RackStation RS812+ And RS812RP+ 4-Bay NAS Servers

Synology today announced RackStation RS812+ and RS812RP+, expandable 4-bay rackmount NAS servers bringing high performance, scalability, and reliability to small and medium businesses.

“Synology RS812+ and RS812RP+ are built to address the needs of businesses that require high performance and maximum system uptime to run mission-critical applications,” said Peter Chen, Product Manager of Synology Inc. “They ensure business continuity with an array of redundancy and availability features,” added Chen.

Both models feature a passive CPU cooling technology, a fan redundancy mechanism, and dual LAN network failover support to eliminate a single point of failure and maximize system uptime during malfunction. Redundant power supplies in the RS812RP+ further assure uninterrupted service. To reinforce system availability and maintenance efficiency, the hot-swappable hard drives and easily accessible circuit boards are designed to be user-replaceable.

Centon Releases New Line Of 2.5-inch SATA III SSDs

Centon Electronics, Inc. has announced the release of their SATA III 2.5 line. While SSD has become a standard specification for enthusiast PC gamers owing to its features including high-speed read/write performance and high shock resistance that can break through the performance bottleneck of PC systems, the introduction of SATA III SSDs further highlights the advantage of SSD's read/write performance.
