PNY Launches SandForce-Based Professional SSD Range

PNY, a global storage, upgrade and graphics solution manufacturer for both consumers and professionals, today introduced its new Professional SSD (solid state drive) range. Built for enthusiasts, amateurs and professionals alike, the high-end drives are available in 120 GB, 240 GB and 480 GB capacities. Thanks to decades of experience manufacturing Flash memory and computer components, PNY has created its most advanced generation of SSDs yet.

The Professional SSD range takes full advantage of SandForce SF 2281/2 controllers and Intel memory. These controllers allow for maximum read speeds of up to 550 MB/s, write speeds of up to 520 MB/s and 60,000 I/O per second. The range provides an excellent solution for the consumer looking to improve their computer's performance. Used as boot device, the SSDs decrease start time, and provide a boost to game and application performance, whilst operating at cool temperatures ensuring efficiency and power even for laptop computers.

Synology America Corp. today proudly announced the launch of the successor to its award-winning DS1511+, the DS1512+. The new five-bay brings improved performance and increased reliability. When paired with two DX510 expansion modules, the DS1512+ can easily scale to up to 15 drives' worth of capacity (up to 60TB of storage).

The DS1512+ is Synology's first five-bay to support USB 3.0. With significantly improved throughput, USB 3.0 will help users to improve their transfer speeds, whether doing a backup or restore, or simply migrating data to or from the server.
