Synology Announces DiskStation DS1512+ 5-Bay NAS Server
Synology America Corp. today proudly announced the launch of the successor to its award-winning DS1511+, the DS1512+. The new five-bay brings improved performance and increased reliability. When paired with two DX510 expansion modules, the DS1512+ can easily scale to up to 15 drives' worth of capacity (up to 60TB of storage).

The DS1512+ is Synology's first five-bay to support USB 3.0. With significantly improved throughput, USB 3.0 will help users to improve their transfer speeds, whether doing a backup or restore, or simply migrating data to or from the server.
Compatible with VMware, Microsoft Hyper-V, and Citrix Xen, the DS1512+ makes an economical addition to virtual networks. With a price point under $800, and boasting read and write speeds of up to 192MB/s and 194MB/s respectively when the NICs are bonded, it offers great performance for the price.
