Micron Announces Availability Of 9400 NVMe SSD For Data Center Workloads
Micron Technology, Inc., today announced the Micron 9400 NVMe SSD is in volume production and immediately available from channel partners and to global OEM customers for use in servers requiring the highest levels of storage performance. The Micron 9400 is designed to manage the most demanding data center workloads, particularly in artificial intelligence (AI) training, machine learning (ML) and high-performance computing (HPC) applications. The drive delivers an industry-leading 30.72 terabytes (TB) of storage capacity, superior workload performance versus the competition, and 77% improved input/output operations per second (IOPS). The Micron 9400 is the world’s fastest PCIe Gen4 data center U.3 drive shipping and delivers consistently low latency at all capacity points.

“High performance, capacity and low latency are critical features for enterprises seeking to maximize their investments in AI/ML and supercomputing systems,” said Alvaro Toledo, vice president and general manager of data center storage at Micron. “Thanks to its industry-leading 30TB capacity and stunning performance with over 1 million IOPS in mixed workloads, the Micron 9400 SSD packs larger datasets into each server and accelerates machine learning training, which equips users to squeeze more out of their GPUs.”

Vinpower, Inc. announced today, through a strategic alliance with Phihong Technology and Silanna Semiconductor, the planned release of a universal charging cube, the iXcharger, which offers the ability to automatically perform a full backup of all stored photos and videos from an iPhone/iPad as well as act as extended memory for all other mobile smartphones, tablets, and laptop computers while charging at the same time. As we all have become more dependent on our mobile devices for everything from business to entertainment, we often have content spread across multiple devices without an easy way to consolidate or maintain it. Simultaneously, each device requires its own unique charging plug, creating a tangle of cords and a plethora of accessories to carry from place to place. The iXcharger, offers the USB Type C connection, and is an environmentally sustainable ESG product by reducing the burden of redundancy to a single device that can act as both an energy efficient power charger and a large capacity backup storage solution for a wide range of mobile devices and laptop computers.
CDRLabs kicks off the new year with a review of Solidigm's latest PCIe 4.0 SSD, the P44 Pro. Designed for intense performance workloads like gaming, content creation, video editing, and data analysis, this M.2 form factor drive is powered by SK hynix's "Aries" controller and is available with up to 2TB of their 176-layer 3D TLC NAND flash. The P44 Pro is also equipped with an ultra-fast PCIe Gen4 x4 NVMe 1.4 interface and features a proprietary NVMe storage driver that automatically and invisibly boosts performance by as much as 21% over devices running the default Windows driver.
