News of CD-R/CD-RW Drives

I recently installed a Liteon 48246S CDRW into my PIII desktop PC. The burner is sharing the same cable with my Pioneer DVD ROM drive, plugged into the Secondary IDE port, setting my burner to Master and my DVD ROM to Slave.

Now when I tell the PC to reboot from CDROM (i.e boot sequence in CMOS settings) and I insert a CD into my Pioneer DVD drive, the DVD drive refused to boot the ...

I am going to buy a new CD-RW, but do not know whitch chose. Please help...

My Burner keeps crapping out during a burn..in the past 20 cd's ive gotten aobut 3 to burn..it like shuts down mid way.. the burner just stops.I'm not savy at all with this..any sugestions?

Ive used real player, nero, "easy audio cd burnerr"

Hi ALL

I have recently installed a 48/24/48 cutter from LG into my computer as my HP 10x just died and it was time to get some faster stuff. I also installed a 256 chip on my system (giving me 384 total ram) but the problemis the cutter just doesnt cut anywhere near fast enough. It only seems to be cutting at 6x, even slower than my original HP. Is maybe the drive defective? Or ...

I have read that these drives are manufactured by Liteon, but then I read the external ones with the same specs are Aopen, can anyone confim which manufacture it is? I'm referring to the Buslink drive on sale at best buy.

Also is it easy to put one of these drives into an external USB 2.0 case and hook it up to my laptop?

but what do they do ?
and do you need them ?

Best Buy has the new 52x24x52x for 99.99 and 20 mir. Or the 48x12x48x for 89.99 and 40mir. Provided I got my speeds right. Ones 52x and ones 48x. Any way would'nt the 48x be a better deal? I did see a sony 48x writer at Stapes but have a TDK right now and it works pretty good although a 24x writer.
