Looking at making a new purchase. So far I have my eyes on the following:
Plextor PX-708A
Opti DD0401
Lite On LDW-811S
Lite On LDW-411S
Pioneer DVR-A06U
Other than the HD-Burn, which I view as not necessary because if I'm going to back up my HD I will use all 4.7 media rather than squeeze 1.5gb on a 700mb CDR, what else does the DD0401 offer? I can purchase it for 100.00 at a local ...
1) I installed the latest firmware (dated late Nov.) available on the Liteon site before using it.
2) I also downloaded the latest Intel Application Accelerator (IAA) (about a year old) from Intel's site and installed it over my 2 year old version.

I recently purchased a Plextor PX-708A/UF DVD burner based in part on a review I read here at cdrlabs.com - Thanks guys!
Now on to my reason for posting. I would like to make a personal backup copy of a software DVD I own. Unfortunately the disc's total contents are larger than 4.7Gb in size. Two questions immediately come to mind.
1. Given the software DVD is single sided, how is it possible to store ...
CD-R's that I've previously burned using Nero and some that were burned on a different computer using the pre-installed burning software in Windows XP cannot be read in my DVD-R drive. I've read most all the FAQ posts here and in the CD-R section and can't find a solution. My DVD-R is a Pioneer 106 and the software I'm using is Roxio v6. I'm going nuts, I need to copy files off of a certain ...
