I just got this burner and have been learning a lot about it over the past couple days. I purchased 16x ridata media from newegg, this media will only write at 4x and after writing it the drive was unable to read it. I found out that other people have had the same problem with the same drive. So I did more research and found a list on cdrinfo about what media works with the ...

Bought one and haven't recieved it yet. Since it has no audio cable output, is there any software in the bundle that will permit listening to audio CDs anyway? Does anyone make software to do this?

im going for a record 80 movies in one month its only 15 bucks the first month its a steal. i got my lite on to rip and nec 3500 to burn.

Used to be you bought a CD-R drive and you got some sort of software to do the process. Now you get nothing. I just bought a Toshiba SDR-1612. Not into burning DVDs yet, but still have the need for CD-R/RW's and watching movies on the PC. I don't really care too much for MS Media Player., but I didn't even get a CD with Nero Express or somthing like it.

I am using Nero 6.6 and can backup to a RW+DVD however when I try to perform an incremental backup using Backitup, the software freezes at 51% and nothing is written to the DVD. I have to reset my computer to access any drives and to close the application.

I have the same problem with my 9 month old LG GSA-4081B DVD drive. It was working great until about a week ago. Now it only reads and writes CDs.
I am currently running on firmware A104. I have the latest IDE drivers on my nVidia n-Force2 motherboard and the drive is running on Ultra DMA2.
I have the latest registered version of Nero 6 and Power DVD installed.
The drive just does not see ...

I did a little test after I ran into some problems with ritek media. Found some interesting things. Maybe my drive just likes the memorex stuff? Bad batch of ritek stuff? What do you think?

I just started checking a lot of my CD-R's, to see if they are still readable. A lot of my discs are just personal copies of my games. All my game backup discs are mostly on cheap Memorex CD-R and were burned using a Yamaha 20x writer.

I'm using Nero scanDisc and have found two discs so far that have unreadable sectors, several others have "damaged" sectors. Nero reported on one disc about 98% good ...
