Recently i have bought the LG 48.16.48 cd-rw drive. The software that come with the unit is Nero. I like Nero but I would like install the ECDC software because i prefer Direct CD. In the cdrlabs review says that the units sold in the USA come with ECDC but with Mt. Rainier format disable due to a conflict with the Roxio software. I live in Spain ...

I was trying to update Easy CD creator 5.0 by dowloading several patches from Roxio's website, but when I executed them I received a message saying : "the program made a wrong operation and will be interrupted" or something like that. (sorry but I'm on win98 spanish version)

On the other hand, DirectCD doesn't work and I can't find any option to avoid it to be loaded on win98 startup.

I'm on Win98 SE, ...

When I try to Install it gives me alot of error's about the registry and also says drive not supported. Then when I try to run it shows on the tasks bar, but won't come up on the desktop, it does not show in add remove programs so I can not delete it.

Please any help at all?

I have a Sony DRU-500A DVD drive and a Lite-On LTR-40125S and for nearly a month I’ve been trying (to no avail) to get packet writing software to work on both drives. I’ve used DirectCD, InCD, and recently (in frustration), I downloaded Stomp’s RecordNow Max, which includes their version of packet writing software (called DLA). I tried to install Winoncd 3.8 poweredition on Win XP. When I run it I get a error message on XP & it closes the software. What could be the problem?

And what are they used for and their advantages?

i got a lite-on 40x with roxio 5.0. it was burning at 40x just fine. then all of a sudden it slows down to 32x and then after a couple more cd's it's down to 12x. i unhooked it, restarted a bunch of times, checked the udma on the other dvd drive, and all that jazz. nothing. anybody have a solution???thanx tom :-?
