Synology Introduces RackStation RS3614xs 12-bay NAS Server
Synology America Corp., is proud to announce the latest in its XS series, with the powerful and extensible RackStation RS3614xs.The new XS model runs off of Synology’s award-winning DiskStation Manager OS (DSM 5.0). The RS3614xs and DSM 5.0 provide enterprise storage features for small to medium sized businesses, at an affordable cost.

Built-in redundancy to minimize business down time: The RS3614xs was designed to keep businesses in motion. It’s built with a mixture of passive and active cooling. Redundant replaceable fans speed up in the event of failure. The redundant power variant, the RS3614RPxs features dual hot-swappable power supplies to withstand failure of a power-circuit or power supply.
Four gigabit NICs comprise the default network configuration for LAG, Load Balancing, and Failover. Throughput can be enhanced with two PCIe Gen3 x8 expansion slots; making it possible to add dual 10Gb ethernet cards to support a total of 4x10GbE. Additionally, the DSM offers high availability, which helps to protect against downtime with active/passive server clustering.
