CDRLabs has taken yet another look at Samsung's popular 9100 PRO series SSD. This time around, we've reviewed the 8TB version of the drive which combines Samsung's 5nm "Presto" controller with their 8th-generation 8th generation V-NAND flash. The 9100 PRO is also available with or without a heatsink and is equipped with an ultra-fast PCIe 5.0 x4 NVMe 2.0 interface to deliver up to 14,800 MB/s read and 13,400 MB/s write speeds. To top it all off, the drive offers a long list of features including Samsung's Intelligent TurboWrite 2.0 technology, hardware-based encryption and support for the company's Magician software.

SK hynix Inc. announced today that it has completed development of its 321-layer 2Tb QLC NAND flash product and has begun mass production. This achievement marks the world’s first implementation of more than 300 layers using QLC technology, setting a new benchmark in NAND density. The company plans to release the product in the first half of next year following completion of global customer validation.
