I know this has been talked to death, but I seem to be having a problem. I recently bought 150 Philips/CMC 80min 48X cd's and no matter what I try I can't get them to burn with my Lite-On LTR-52246S. Here's what happens when I run Nero CD Speed:



I've burned imation cd-r's in the past without a problem. I have the latest nero and have the 6S0A firmware. Anyone have any ideas?

I was running the various Nero CD Speed tests on my Liteon 52246S installed in a USB 2.0 external case. All of the test results seemed in line with what I would expect to see based on test information on the internal, factoring in a slight difference for the USB connection. The only thing that stood out was CPU usage. I'm seeing the following results consistently:

1X - 2%
2X - 7%
4X - 17% ...

I had Nero InfoTool 1.02 installed and running great on my system. I flashed my LiteOn 40x12x48 then upgraded to the latest version of Nero 5.5.10. I then went to run InfoTool and now it won't run. today something strange happened all of the sudden.

no communication available, cannot get into any website, email not working from 2 different POP3 servers, but is working on the university's POP3 server, the university is also my ISP. also Norton Live Update is working.

I went to best buy to get a BUSLINK 48x12X48 $29.99 after rebates and they are not using LITE ON, so i went to OFFICE MAX to get a VERBATIM $19.99 after MIR and they are not using LITE ON , but OFFICE Max was going to let me sub. for a CENDYNE or PACIFIC DIGITAL and guess what! They don't use LITE ON anymore either.

Bought a new Lite-On 52x24x52x (52246s) a few days ago.
firmware 60S7 manufactured end of December. I know, new
firmware out 2 days ago.

I've tried about 40 or 50 different cd's and can't get it to read
any faster than 21x. I've tried Microsoft 95,98,XP cd's. CdR's,
Audio cd's, etc. It will even slowdown to 5x to read an entire
cd.

I checked Nero Drive Speed. It seems to always lock in at 32x. ...

Any opinions on CD media compatability with an audio CD plaer. I have a Bose head unit in my 95 Maxima. My CDR's sometimes skip or cause a cd error message. I thinking the head unit was manufacture before support for CDR's was widely adopted. I'm wondering if I'll have better luck with 74Min discs vs the 80Min I've been using. Anyone else have any experience with this.

I'm looking for guidelines for best audio quality copying of a wide variety of commercial audio cd's. I am new to burning.
